Evanston Celebrates 2017 National Public Health Week

Each year during the first full week of April, communities across the United States observe National Public Health Week to recognize the contributions of public health departments and highlight issues that are important to improving the nation’s health. This year’s theme is “Healthiest Nation 2030,” with the goal of creating the healthiest nation in one generation.

The City’s Health and Human Services Department is hosting three public events to celebrate the power of prevention, advocate for healthy and fair policies, share strategies for successful partnerships, and champion the role of a strong public health system: the video and discussion “Unnatural Causes” on April 3, a presentation on rodent control on April 4, and a presentation on childhood lead poisoning at noon on April 6 in the Parasol Room of the Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave.
