On Friday, December 14, 2012 at 7:30 pm at the Unitarian Church of Evanston, Fifth House Ensemble (5HE) will present A Fifth House Christmas: A Benefit Concert for 5HE’s Education and Outreach programs.
A Fifth House Christmasfeatures classic sacred and secular holiday music including Corelli’s Christmas Concerto in G minor, Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite, “Gaudete” from the Piae Cantiones, 1582, the Coventry Carol, and Winter from the “Four Seasons” by Antionio Vivaldi. Fifth House Ensemble will also lead audiences in a sing-along of beloved Christmas Carols.
All proceeds raised by ticket sales will go directly to fund 5HE’s arts integrated residencies and One-Shot! concerts at Chicago area schools.
Bringing its signature connective programming from the stage to the classroom, 5HE develops young audiences through curriculum-integrated interactive concerts and residencies for students grades K-12. A member of the Illinois Arts Council’s Arts-in-Education Roster, 5HE presents performances and residencies at Chicago public schools and the Chicago Cultural Center in partnership with the International Music Foundation, the Chicago Teachers’ Center, the Merit School of Music, and Ravinia’s Reach*Teach*Play program.
Audiences will have one final opportunity to say farewell to long-time pianist Adam Marks who will play his final Chicago concert with 5HE before moving to NYC at the end of this year.
