3rd Annual Tripp Healy Foundation Golf Outing & Gala Tee's Off on July 8
For the third year, friends of Tripp Healy will celebrate his memory with a golf tournament and an evening party on July 8. The day’s events will raise money for the Tripp Healy Foundation, created by friends of Mr. Healy, a 1998 graduate of Evanston Township High School who died in 2014.

16th Race Against Hate: A Perfect Way to Spend Father's Day
5,200 participants ran or walked along the Evanston Lakefront Trail on June 16 for the 16th annual Ricky Byrdsong Memorial Race Against Hate. Runners could choose to compete in a 5K run, a 10K run, a 5K walk, or a fun youth mile with their kids.

Gala Celebrates MIC's 86th Anniversary
The Music Institute of Chicago, one of the nation’s oldest and largest community music schools, welcomed more than 350 guests to its 86th anniversary gala last month. The event raised more than $850,000 from a combination of table sponsorships, ticket sales, and outright contributions.

Art Imitates Water
On one of the last days of the school year, Evanston beaches served as classrooms for 300 sixth-grade students from Haven Middle School. They played litter tag and picked up litter, tested the quality of water and compared the infiltration of water through sand and through a grass lawn.

Eagle Scout Leads Project in Eggleston Park for Ecology Center
Tucked away in a corner of Eggleston Park on McCormick Boulevard at Bridge Street, just beyond the Anniversary Orchard, is Greg Wooten’s completed Eagle Scout project: a tool shed, a harvest table and a three-stage compost bin. They can be found in the Ecology Center Farmette, a section of Eggleston Park that will be used for classes and programs and as an urban farming demonstration site
