Stand Against Racism April 27 at New Time
The Evanston Stand Against Racism will take place on Ridge Avenue (near Church Street) from 2:00-2:25 p.m. – later in the day than in previous years. The Evanston time was moved to better accommodate lunch periods for schoolchildren, who participate in this annual event.

American Legion Pasta Dinner Sends Vets to Nationals

After Midwest Pizza Contest Win, Panino's Lenny Rago Heads to Italy
A pizza-making teenager, an entrepreneur with a string of successful business ventures, and a famous pizza champion. Lenny Rago has been all of these things. So it is not a surprise that his pizza was recently named “Best in the Midwest” –  or that he was getting ready to head to Italy for another competition. Over the years, Mr. Rago has received many honors for his pizza, but he was excited to talk about the most recent – almost as if this were his first win.

Enrich Evanston Addresses Inclusion and Accessibility in the Arts
Four Evanston arts organizations heard some unsettling statistics at a statewide arts conference in 2015. Representatives from the Evanston Symphony, Actors Gymnasium, the North Shore Choral Society (NSCS) and Evanston Dance Ensemble (EDE) learned that just 2% of all cultural institutions in the United States receive nearly 60% of all contributed revenue – and that grants significantly favor large urban organizations or artists representing White culture.
