Room for a View: Tweets
By Peggy Tarr

The god “Was” looked disappointedly at the earth. Not very much there filled the god with mirth. God Was thought that it would never see humans who felt more powerful than Thee. The tweets of some humans confirmed that they were mad and very much determined to make masses of humans sad. Actions that made many humans tense were actions that also made the god Was wince.

The god Was knew that humans with megalo-egos often caused pain for friends and foes, and power hungry humans might conspire to break a calm by threatening or attacking other humans with a bomb. Sadistic leaders that might be insane could be perpetrating anything that they think will trumpet their reign.

The followers that these sadists can readily seize are humans of the same mindset, or anxious to please.

The god Was stroked its chin as it worried about the earth and wondered if there were any humans that valued the earth’s worth.  Who cared about the earth’s air, its earthlings and its trees and understood the importance of saving the bees? Who believed in the research and scientific fact that earth’s climate was changed by human impact.

The god Was then saddened and tears filled its eyes. The god shook its head and let out deep sighs. But then, unexpectedly, the sad god Was heard the beautiful song of an innocent bird, an uplifting song, a melodious tweet, that served to give god Was a soothing retreat. The god Was smiled, now filled with hope that earthlings would find ways to positively cope with actions that threatened the earth with harm by loudly and constantly sounding the alarm that the earth, its life forms, and also its air must forever be protected and treated with care.

That humans could fight against earth’s destruction and win was enough to make the now optimistic god Was grin.

And so my fellow humans, as we approach another Earth Day, let us vow to protect the earth in each and every way, and let it be known that it must be our aim to teach future generations that they must do the same.   (Earth Day is April 22)
