More Room: Shifting Gears

Funny the things we remember. I read once, as a kid, about a jet fighter pilot who was testing a new plane. The plane stalled and he went into a tailspin. Try as he might he could not engage the gear to pull the plane up. With the ground fast approaching and nothing to lose he rammed the gear in the opposite direction.

Room for a View: Prescription for a Better (Y)ear
In an increasingly clanging, banging, screeching and screaming, noisy world quiet is becoming a luxury item. It is almost as if life turns up the volume to mask the more uncomfortable awareness of everything from the world’s chaos to one’s own anxieties. Louder has become the response to loud. Quiet can be hard to find for anyone seeking personal peace.

Room for a View: Is It Well
Reverend Doctor King was a Baptist minister and Civil Rights leader, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964.  He was admired not only for his courage and commitment to the struggle for Civil Rights, but also for his ability to encourage others and articulate the need for people to participate in the struggle and/or speak out against miscarriages of justice.
