How Preserving the Harley Clarke Mansion Will Help the Community

Dear Evanston Community,

On behalf of my fellow board members and our hundreds of supporters, I am writing to express the continued enthusiasm of Evanston Lakehouse & Gardens (ELHG) to reach a lease agreement with the City for Harley Clarke so that ELHG can fulfill its mission to maximize its use for the benefit of the public, and to oppose demolition of this irreplaceable public asset.

Editorial: School Districts 65 and 202 Should Set Higher Expectations
On May 21, the Northwestern-Evanston Education Research Alliance (NEERA), a partnership between School Districts 65 and 202 and Northwestern University, laid out its plan on how  to define college success and to identify characteristics of students who are on track to meeting their definition of college success, starting at eighth and ninth grades and then expanding to both higher and lower grade levels. (See story in Schools section.)
