Editorial: The End of the Series, Not of the Outrageous Problem
The story and sidebar on page 8 of this issue end the RoundTable’s series on violence against women. Writers explored several issues. Some of these are universal, such as the many forms of violence against women: bullying, stalking, unwanted sexual advances, forced prostitution, rape, incest, beating, battering – physical and emotional, financial captivity, and murder.

Room for a View: These Wisdom Years
The story never changes. Bethlehem and the events of that certain night are forever. I cannot imagine how our world might be if the first Christmas and the life that followed never happened. That life, his words, his dying changed, and continues to change, history in every reach of the globe. His journey may have been measured by time, but his spirit is eternal.

More Room: Parable of the Glasses
There were two boys who were schoolmates and best friends. But they were very different. Bobby seemed to have it all: smart, good-looking, and athletic, he was quarterback of the football team, dated the most popular girls, and had top grades. Plus his family had a lot of money. Kasheem wasn’t much of a student but he was good with his hands, had an aptitude for fixing things, and loved to tinker with cars.

Albion a Mockery of Affordable Housing
Evanston City Council showed zero interest in halting the rapid gentrification of Evanston when they voted to approve the 15-story, 273-unit mega luxury Albion development on one of Evanston’s few traditional and transitional streets. They made a mockery of the cause of affordable housing, of the Evanston Inclusionary Ordinance and of our zoning laws.
