The negotiating teams for the District 65 School Board and the District Educators’ Council (DEC, the teachers’ union) reached a tentative agreement for a contract between the School Board and DEC on July 17, the terms of which have been kept confidential. Neither DEC nor the School Board has voted on the contract.
DEC’s negotiating team presented the proposed contract to members of DEC on Aug. 28, and additional meetings were held on Aug. 28 and Sept. 2 to answer questions.
Members of DEC are scheduled to vote on the contract today. The contract is still subject to approval by the School Board, whose next regularly scheduled meeting is Sept. 8.
