Forty-four Evanston teams participated in the 16th annual March Madness three-on-three basketball tournament held at the Chandler-Newberger Center, Ray Doerner, program director, told the RoundTable.

Sixth through eighth grade boys and girls teams played March 20 and 21. Fourth- and fifth-grade boys and girls teams played on March 27 and 28. Each team had three or four players.

The winners of the double elimination tournament at the fourth- and fifth-grade levels were:

• Girls 4th grade: first place went to Team Hyper Hoops (Isabel Ouweleen, Olivia Gwilliam, Taylor Rosenthal); second place to Team Demons (Catherine Enright, Margot Dooley, Charlotte Mulica, Katherine O’Malley).

• Girls 5th grade: first place went to Team KLS (Sheridan Cleave, Kamari Chisolm, Lupe Rojas); second place to Team Wildkits (Tazia Logan, Kira Favakeh, Beth Parcell, Sophie Clark).

• Boys 4th grade: first place went to Evanston No Names (Jesse Heuer, Jake Urdangen, Andrew Potter); second place to Carlin and the Clowns (Peter Osterlund, Carlin Saint-Vil, Dashaun Elliott, Marcus Schmitz)

• Boys 5th grade: first place went to Team Nike (Kyle Thompson, Dylan Mulvihill, Matt Little, Charlie Maxwell); second place to Team Celtics (Caleb Trautvetter, Nick Lydon, Henry Young, Saveion Shadd).
