Last week the Evanston Township High School (ETHS) Board of Education appointed Evanston resident Mark Metz to fill the unexpired term of member Omar Khuri. Mr Khuri resigned from School Board service for personal and professional reasons.
Mr. Metz was among 10 District 202 residents who expressed interest in the filling the opening and who were interviewed by the School Board members over two closed-session meetings. Mr. Metz will be be sworn in at a special public Board meeting beginning at 5 p.m. on April 2.
During Mr. Metz’s 29 years in Evanston, he has been involved in a variety of school and community organizations as his three children matriculated through the Evanston schools. He earned a degree in mathematics from Western Illinois University, and is a certified employee benefits specialist and a certified financial planner.
