Seven-year-old Laurel O’Hare is the proud proprietor of a lemonade stand she ran last Sunday in front of her house on Noyes St. The lemonade was selling for the retro price of 25¢ a glass, and Laurel raised $7.
The stand is a way to “raise money so other children don’t get cancer,” she explained.
Alex’s Lemonade Stands are part of a national drive to raise funds to fight cancer in children. This past Sunday it snowed again, but Laurel, a second- grader at Orrington School, said she plans to run another lemonade stand soon.
