On June 1 at approximately Evanston Police received a 911 call stating that the Charter One Bank, located at

1325 Howard St. Evanston, Illinois

, had just been robbed, said Commander Tom Guenther, public information officer of the Evanston Police Department.

 

Once on scene, Evanston police interviewed witnesses who stated that a lone offender entered the bank and presented the teller with a demand note and also verbally intimidated the teller, said Cmdr. Guenther. The teller relinquished cash funds to the offender. Once obtaining the cash, the offender fled from the bank without further incident. Evanston police immediately responded into the area, but were not able to locate the offender, said Cmdr. Guenther.

 

Preliminary indications are that the offender could be the same person who robbed the Charter One Bank on May 8, said the Commander. Evanston Police along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation will be conducting a joint investigation.
