Fred Hunter has been appointed as the interim principal of Lincolnwood School for the 2009-10 school year. He will replace Dr. Beth Sagett-Flores, the current principal, who has accepted an interim appointment as the District 65 Director of Human Resources.

In recommending the interim appointments, Dr. Murphy shared his belief that “the openings for these internal candidates give the District an opportunity to capitalize on the expertise and knowledge of its employees. These District 65 administrators now will have the opportunity to continue their effectiveness in new leadership roles.”

Mr. Hunter has been the Assistant Principal at Haven Middle School for the past three years.  Previous to that appointment, he taught middle school mathematics at Haven Middle School. His educational background includes a BA in Elementary Education from Illinois State University and a Master in Education Administration from National-Louis University in 2005.  Mr. Hunter is a life-time Evanstonian whose children attend District 65 schools.

Dr. Sagett-Flores was principal at Lincolnwood for the past seven years. Previously she was principal at the Solomon Elementary School in Chicago (three years) and Assistant Principal and Instructional Coordinator at Louisa May Alcott Elementary School in Chicago (13 years). Dr. Flores earned her Doctorate in Educational Administration in May of 2004 from Illinois State University. She also holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Loyola University (1983) and a Bachelor of Science, Elementary/Special Education from Northern Illinois University.

Both administrators will be assuming their new positions effective July 1.
