The recipients of the North End Mothers’ Club three annual scholarships named at the Evanston Township High School Awards in May were honored recently at the NEMC scholarship tea.

Adrienne Slaughter, the 59th annual recipient of the prestigious Senior Girls Honor Award, was captain of the varsity track team, Executive Board member of the Writer’s Showcase, Facilitator of the Central Suburban League Leadership Conference. She was also a member of the Junior Engineering and Technical Society Team, the Superintendent’s Advisory Council and the Senior Class Board. She will attend Harvard University in the fall.

Ashley Tolentino who received the Nursing Scholarship, was a four-year member of the Asian Pacific American Club and served as its co-president. She performed in the handbell choir at ETHS and since her freshman year, Ashley has competed and been named Gold or Silver winner at the Chicago area Sonatina Piano Competition. She plans to attend the University of Illinois-Chicago to study nursing.

The Joanne Murphy Trautwein Music Award was presented to Julian Allen. He participated for four years in the Concert Band, Jazz Big Band, Percussion Ensemble and Jazz Combo. He was a two year member the Top Combo, the Top Jazz Ensemble and the ETHS Band Mentorship Program and a one year member of Marching Band and Master Singers. He was also a YAMO board member for three years. Julian will attend the University of Michigan, where he will major in music and jazz drum set.
