The Wall of Struggle and Dreams mural in Evanston‘s Clyde-Brummel Park will be rehabbed and renewed in August and September. The old panels have been removed and replaced with blank panels that will be repainted with the original imagery, under the supervision of artists Kiela Smith-Upton and Max Sansing.
The following community volunteer times have been identified:
Friday, August 14, — projecting design on wall
Saturday, August 15, – — painting
Saturday, August 22, — painting
Wednesday, August 26, — painting
No experience is necessary and the volunteer opportunity is open to all ages, but children under nine must be accompanied by a parent. Anyone interested in helping, may contact the City’s Cultural Arts Division office, 847-448-8260.
