Thursday, September 17th is the meeting of the Evanston/Skokie Council of PTAs. The Evanston/Skokie Council of PTAs is the umbrella association for all school PTAs and PTSAs in the area served by School Districts 65 and 202. Council member schools include elementary, middle, and magnet schools; Park School and Evanston Township High School. Representatives from all the D65 schools and ETHS are welcome to participate. Many schools appoint one or more PTA Council representatives and PTA Presidents are also encouraged to attend. Monday, September 21st – The public session of the District 65 Regular monthly Board of Education meeting will commence in the Board Room of the JEH Education Center,
. A public hearing on the District 65 2009-10 budget will be held be held at the beginning of the meeting. The budget is scheduled for adoption later in the meeting. Live broadcast of the meeting is on Channel 19 on Evanston Cable (for Comcast subscribers) and Channel 26 in Skokie. Tuesday, September 22nd at 8:30 a.m. – Pursuant to Special Education Services for Parentally Placed Private School Children with Disabilities, IDEIA 2004 Section 612, Evanston/Skokie District 65 and Evanston Township High School District 202 will hold a meeting to discuss plans for providing special education services for students with disabilities who attend private schools and home schools within the district for the 2009-10 school year. This information will focus on Response to Intervention (RTI) practices. Evanston/Skokie District 65 families of home-school children who have been or may be identified with a disability are urged to attend. The meeting will be held at the Joseph E. Evanston School Children’s Clothing Association (ESCCA) is an all-volunteer organization located at

Washington Elementary School
Saturday, September 12th – Washington School‘s annual Wellness Walk/Family Fun Run will be held on the school field and playground area (914 Ashland Avenue, Evanston). This annual event, organized by Washington school physical education teachers and sponsored by the PTA, is held to promote wellness and physical activity. Families, friends, and teachers are encouraged to participate to build community and healthy lifestyles. People can participate at their own level and choose to walk or run. When participants finish there will be healthy snacks and water provided by Washington School‘s PTA.
