The program of the annual meeting of Housing Options for the Mentally Ill, to be held at 7 p.m. on Sept. 23 at the King Home,1555 Oak Ave.
, will focus on recovery-oriented services. Increasingly, mental health providers and funders are putting an increased emphasis on the Recovery Model.
Hank Schneider, LCSW, will present “Recovery Oriented Services – Incorporating Recovery Principles into Everyday Practice.” Mr. Schneider, a clinical coordinator in the outpatient psychiatry department at NorthShore University HealthSystem’s Evanston Hospital, has more than 25 years experience working with people with mental illnesses.
In addition, the event will highlight Housing Options’ accomplishments over the past year and will recognize the incoming and outgoing board of directors.
The meeting is free and open to the public.
