Whether you currently serve on a nonprofit board or are considering joining one, the Evanston Community Foundation workshop Boards That Work… Just What’s Involved? is for you.  The workshop will be held Dec. 1, 5:30 – 8:00 pm at the District 65 Hill Administration Building, 1500 McDaniel.

Boards That Work will explore best board practices and expectations in our changing environment and how board members can make a difference in helping to build a successful organization.

A focus will be on board member roles at different stages of an organization’s lifecycle and how board members can best lead the organization to meet its mission, vision and values. This interactive workshop will leave participants with useful tips, resources and much to think about regarding a nonprofit board’s readiness to achieve all that it can be.

The workshop will be led by a panel of experienced staff and board leaders.  Moderator Joan Gunzberg served as Executive Director of the Arts and Business Council for 20 years, developing board talent for arts organizations; she now serves on the board of the Evanston Community Foundation.  Panelists include Tim Evans, Executive Director of Northlight Theater and longtime administrator at Steppenwolf Theater, and Shabnum Sanghvi, Board President of Chiaravalle Montessori School.

The cost is $30 per person.  A box supper is included in the registration fee.  Please register by November 25th by visiting www.evanstonforever.org. For more information, call 847-492-0990 or send an e-mail to info@evanstonforever.org.
