Downtown Evanston will once again host a genuine North Pole at 1620 Sherman in the Sherman Plaza passageway just between LA Fitness and lululemon. All are invited to enter the magical holiday wonderland, where children can visit with Santa, sharing their Christmas wishes.
Visit the North Pole on Saturday, Dec. 5 and Sunday, Dec. 6, from noon until 4 p.m. Bring your camera, to capture the magic of your little one’s chat with Santa. The event is free.
Downtown Evanston encourages families to continue the holiday festivities, with a free sample of roasted chestnuts on Saturday only from 3-5 p.m. at the corner of Maple Avenue and Church Street, courtesy of Church Street Plaza, and a stroll around the downtown to visit to local shops and restaurants.
“After the kids visit with Santa, we hope families will take the time to rediscover the wonderful and unique variety of shops in the downtown,” says Evmark Executive Director Carolyn Dellutri.
Downtown Evanston is served by the CTA Purple Line and Metra North Line trains (Davis stop.) Between Nov.26 and Jan. 2, parking is free all day Saturday and Sunday and weekdays after 5 p.m at three downtown City garages.
