Cook County Commissioner Larry Suffredin (District 13) and the Cook County Board of Review are sponsoring property reassessment appeal seminars for Evanston residents on Dec. 14 at Fleetwood Jourdain Community Center, 1655 Foster St.
The Board of Review will conduct the seminar. The seminar will inform homeowners how to appeal, where to gather evidence for an appeal with the Board of Review and how to fill out and file the assessment complaint form for the 2009 assessment year. This assessment will be for taxes to be paid in 2010, and will not affect the 2nd installment of 2008 property taxes that are due December 1, 2009.
Evanston and Rogers Park Township residents have until Dec. 28, 2009 to submit their complaint forms to the Cook County Board of Review.
Taxpayers are encouraged to bring their Tax Bill, Assessment Notice or Property Identification Number to the seminar in order to complete and submit complaint forms at the seminar.
