The Evanston Chamber of Commerce took home four communications awards from the Illinois Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (IACCE) annual conference. The awards, for Evanston Chamber publications, were all designed by local Evanston-based graphic design companies.
The Chamber’s 2009 Community Guide and Annual Report, designed by Maret Thorpe Incorporated, won first place in the “directory” category for chambers of commerce with 500 or more members. The 2008 Community Guide and Annual Report, also designed by Maret Thorpe, won honorable mention in that category.
The Evanston Chamber’s 88th annual meeting and gala program and invitation (2008), designed by Pax Rodentia won first place in the “brochure” category for chambers of commerce with 500 or more members. The 89th annual meeting and gala program and invitation (2009), designed by Mark Ingraham Creative, won honorable mention in the same category.
“While The Chamber appreciates the recognition from the IACCE, we are even more proud of our local Chamber-member graphic design companies who are the real winners of this competition,” said Chamber vice president for marketing/communications Kristen Murtos, president of Skokie Hospital.
“These awards prove,” said Chamber executive director Jonathan Perman, that “the printed word still matters, at least from a design standpoint.”
