Three Hundred Attend Interfaith Thanksgiving Service

Jennifer Nelson-Seals, the executive director of Interfaith House of Chicago, was the guest speaker at the 11th annual interfaith Thanksgiving service on Nov. 25.

Nearly 300 people were present to hear Ms. Nelson-Seals speak about the understanding of “hospitality” she gained during her 16 years at the organization that gives help and hope to homeless people.

The service was held at the Jewish Reconstruction Congregation and featured music from the JRC and St. Nicholas choirs and Thanksgiving blessings from representatives of seven different faith communities. The service concluded with a candle-lighting ceremony that involved all the members of the diverse audience.
