Fifteen local hotels are offering free room nights to families of patients at local hospitals between Dec. 14 and 30.
“For the seventh year in a row, our hotel members have decided to join forces to help make the holidays a bit easier and less stressful for local hospital patients and their families,” said Gina Speckman, executive director of Chicago’s North Shore Convention & Visitors Bureau (CNSCVB). “To do so, the hotel General Managers will be providing complimentary rooms to family members who need to travel to the North Shore in order to be in closer proximity to their loved ones.”
To help lessen the financial and emotional challenges of caring for a family member who must stay in the hospital during the holidays, fifteen CNSCVB hotels will be participating in this holiday gesture. Each of them will be extending free room nights to the families of those who are patients of Evanston Hospital, Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview, Highland Park Hospital, St. Francis Hospital of Evanston and Skokie Hospital, said CNSCVB in a prepared statement.
This offer will be available beginning on Monday, December 14th and continuing through Thursday, December 31st, said CNSCVB. The participating hotels are: Baymont Inn & Suites Chicago (Glenview), Best Western University Plaza (Evanston), Comfort Inn North Shore (Skokie), Courtyard by Marriott (Glenview), DoubleTree Hotel & Conference Center Chicago North Shore (Skokie), The Glen Club (Glenview), Hampton Inn & Suites Chicago North Shore (Skokie), Hilton Garden Inn (Evanston), Holiday Inn North Shore (Skokie), The Homestead (Evanston), Hotel Orrington (Evanston), Margarita European Inn (Evanston), Renaissance Chicago North Shore (Northbrook), Staybridge Suites (Glenview) and the Wyndham Glenview Suites (Glenview).
Information necessary to book the hotel rooms is available at each of the five participating hospitals. A representative from each hospital will be working with the families to help coordinate their hotel reservations through designated Convention Bureau contacts (patients will not need to contact the hotels directly). “We hope that patients and their families will take advantage of the offer being made by our local hotel members,” says Ms. Speckman. “It certainly represents the true giving spirit of the holidays!”
