An 18 year-old man was shot in the knee and the buttocks on Dec. 19 at about 2:30 a.m. while standing on his porch in the 1900 block of Emerson Street, Commander Tom Guenther, public information officer for the Evanston Police Department, told the RoundTable. The man told police he was standing on his porch when he heard gun shots fired. He felt pain in his knee and buttocks and realized he was shot. He was treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, the Commander said.

Officers who responded to the scene did not locate a suspect in the area. The victim told police he did not have an issue with anyone and could not understand why he was shot, the Commander said. Police are continuing the investigation.
