Editor:

I would like to heartily endorse Mary Trew as a candidate for judge. Her training, experience and recommendations all combine to illustrate her remarkable suitability for this position.

She has received 100% favorable bar association ratings, including being classed as “highly qualified” by the Illinois State Bar Association, and “highly recommended” by the Women’s Bar Association, the Decalogue Society of Lawyers, and the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association. Seven other legal associations found her “qualified” or “recommended.” All eleven bar associations that evaluate judicial candidates have given Mary Trew positive ratings.

Her current position is Executive Director and Legal Service Provider for the Domestic Violence Legal Clinic in Chicago. She is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at the John Marshall Law School. A 28-year veteran litigator in domestic relations law and criminal defense, she created one of the nation’s first court based clinics in partnership with Domestic Violence Courthouse.

Mary’s years of experience have well prepared her for this judicial position. Having received her Juris Doctor degree from Michigan State University College of Law, she is currently an Adjunct Professor of Law at the John Marshall Law School.

Mary is running as a Democrat for the Vacancy “A” in the 9th Judicial Subcircuit of the Cook County Circuit Court. I hope you will be able to join me in supporting her.
