The U.S. Census will be hiring temporary part-time census takers in the area for $18 per hour. The positions offer flexible hours, paid training and neighborhood work.

There will be two locations in Evanston where interested candidates can apply and take the test for these jobs throughout the month of January.

The first location is the Evanston Public Library, 1703 Orrington Ave. with the following dates and times:
• January 13 at 11 a.m.
• January 18 at 3 p.m.
• January 18 at 6 p.m.
• January 25 at 3 p.m.
• January 25 at 6 p.m.

The second location is the Illinois Department of Employment Securities’ Evanson office, 1615 Oak St. with the following dates and times:
• January 6 at 1 p.m.
• January 6 at 3 p.m.
• January 11 at 1 p.m.
• January 11 at 3 p.m.
• January 13 at 1 p.m.
• January 13 at 3 p.m.
• January 20 at 11 a.m.
• January 22 at 11 a.m.
• January 27 at 11 a.m.
• January 29 at 11 a.m.

Applicants should arrive 15 minutes early, allow 90 minutes for the application process including 30 minutes for testing and bring state issued photo ID plus their social security card or a copy of their birth certificate.
