District 65 is planning to apply for two grants from the U.S. Department of Education. The first is the Readiness and Emergency Management Grant (CFDA#84.184E) which is designed to provide resources to increase local capacity and to institute a sustainable emergency management plan that can be maintained by the district staff after the period of Federal funding.

A meeting with community partners is scheduled for Thursday, January 28th in the Board Room of the Joseph E. Hill Education Center, 1500 McDaniel Ave. at 10 AM.

The second is the Elementary and Secondary School Counseling program grant designed to support efforts by Local Education Agencies to expand elementary and secondary school counseling programs.
