Mather LifeWays recently debuted the Life Centre at The Mather with a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the opening of two floors dedicated to health care.  Composed of ten assisted-living, 12 memory-support, and 35 long-term-care suites, the Life Centre will provide residents of The Mather with a full continuum of on-site care.

The Life Centre introduction follows the October 2009 opening of The Mather, the Chicago area’s newest Continuing Care Retirement Community, located at 425 Davis Street in Evanston.

Mather LifeWays has also announced that Dr. Victoria Braund will serve as medical director of the Life Centre.  Dr. Braund has served as medical director for Mather LifeWays since 2000 and has added medical oversight of The Life Centre to her responsibilities.  Dr. Braund is division director, Geriatrics, Evanston Northwestern Healthcare, and an assistant professor, Northwestern University Medical School.

“Mather LifeWays has been a leading provider of assisted living and skilled nursing services in the Chicago area for nearly 60 years,” said Sara McVey, vice president and experience director at The Mather.  “Not only have we managed well-respected communities at all levels of care, but the Mather LifeWays Institute on Aging has trained other senior living communities in all 50 states to deliver a high standard of care to their own residents.”
