The Evanston City Council recently voted to change the start times for meetings of the Planning and Development (P&D) Committee and City Council. The change in times would eliminate potentially long waiting periods between committee and Council meetings.
With the new meeting time changes, the meeting of the Administration and Public Works Committee will still begin at 5:30 p.m. on City Council meeting nights, but P&D will begin meeting 15 minutes after the A&PW meeting’s adjournment. Additionally, City Council meetings will begin 15 minutes after P&D adjourns, but no sooner than 7 p.m.
The change in the meeting structure would decrease the amount of down time between Committee and City Council meetings, and, allow for an earlier start time for Council meetings. There is, however, no set start time for the P&D Committee or City Council meetings, except that City Council will not start sooner than 7 p.m.
