Evanston Fire and Life Safety Services Chief Alan Berkowsky has officially announced his retirement from the City of Evanston after more than 28 years of service. Chief Berkowsky began his career with the City in 1981 as a firefighter and paramedic.
“I could not have chosen a better career path than the one with this department,” said Chief Berkowsky.
“The City of Evanston has greatly benefited from Alan Berkowsky’s years of service not only as its Fire and Life Safety Services chief but also as a dedicated public servant in the many roles he has held to help make Evanston a safe community,” said Evanston City Manager Wally Bobkiewicz.
