Your brain plays a crucial role in your ability to hear, and can be
changed by lifelong and short-term experiences with sound. Years of
musical practice enhance fundamental neural processing of speech sounds,
which translates to better speech-in-noise perception. The use of
computer-based auditory training programs can also enhance how the
nervous system responds to speech under noisy listening conditions.
Come attend a free lecture open to the public to learn how auditory
training affects the nervous system, and to discuss practical options
for better hearing in noisy listening environments.
