Reel Time presents the documentary “I Know a Woman Like That” (2009, 103 min.), a lively collection of interviews with older women conducted by former Evanstonian Elaine Madsen and her Academy Award-nominated daughter, actress and producerVirginia Madsen.
Filmmaker Elaine and Virginia Madsen went cross-country on a mother-daughter journey to conduct intimate and enlightening conversations with inspiring older women, ages 64 to 94. “I Know a Woman Like That “ profiles older women not yet ready to retire and passionately engaged in life, such as Eartha Kitt, Rita Moreno, Gloria Steinem and former mayor Lorraine Morton.
After the screening, Emmy award-winning filmmaker and author Elaine Madsen will be present for question-and-answer period. This free event, co-presented with the Aging Well Conference, will take place at 7 p.m. on May 12 at the Evanston Public Library, 1703 Orrington Ave.
