The last day for Evanston and Skokie residents to save money on their 2010 beach tokens is Friday, June 11. Through that date, tokens are being sold at the discounted resident price of $22. Fee assistance is available to help qualified Evanston residents with the purchase of tokens. In addition, a limited number of free tokens are available to residents who meet income guidelines. When Evanston’s five swimming beaches open for the season on Saturday, June 12, resident token prices will increase to the regular season rate of $30 each. Daily beach passes are $8 for those age 12 and older and $6 for children age 1-11. Children under one year of age are admitted free.

            Tokens are available at the Morton Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave.; all community centers; and the Dempster Street Beach office, open daily starting May 29. To obtain the discount, proof of residency is required at the time of purchase. For more information, call 847-866-2900.
