On May 17, the District 65 School Board elected Keith Terry to serve a second term as president of the School Board. In a letter to members of the School Board in which he expressed an interest in serving a second term, he said he would, if elected, continue to work toward effective implementation of the District’s five-year strategic plan, and that he would work to limit the impact of the financial downturn on the District.
He said he would work toward the creative use of space, such as converting auditoriums to classrooms and building additions to school buildings, as a way to address enrollment issues. He also said he would work to make entryways to the District’s 16 schools safer.
The Board also elected Jerome Summers to serve a second term as vice president.
