Kim Ross of Orr Academy High School in Chicago told the RoundTable the school has developed small learning communities, one of which deals with school diversity.

“These students came to see what a diverse school looks like,” she said. “Bill Stafford, [chief financial officer at ETHS], arranged for the kids to see the television studio and the auto shop.” Heidi Randhava, assistant to Director of Public/Alumni Relations, Kathy Miehls, explained that students from other high schools often visit ETHS to observe similarities and differences between schools. Ms. Ross said ETHS representatives are “interested in doing an exchange” with Orr Academy High School next year.
