On Thursday, June 3rd, 2010, the Evanston Noodles & Co. (located at 930 Church Street) will be teaming up with Evanston Public Library Friends (EPLF) to help raise money for the Evanston Public Library System.   From 4 PM to 10 PM, 25% of sales at the Evanston Noodles & Co. will be donated to the EPLF’s efforts to save the North and South Branch Libraries from closure due to recent budget cuts. Whether dining in or carrying out, a customer simply has to mention Evanston Public Library Friends when making their purchase to contribute to this effort.

Evanston Public Library Friends will be hosting Make-a-Noodle Necklace events at the North Branch on June 1st and the South Branch on June 2nd from 10 AM to 6 PM.

“We hope that making and wearing a ‘Noodle Necklace’ will help serve as a reminder to the community about the EPLF/Noodles & Company fundraiser,” said EPLF treasurer, Trish Stieglitz.

Evanston Public Library Friends is an independent, community-based organization dedicated to strengthening Evanston Public Library’s innovation, leadership and neighborhood outreach. Formed in March 2010, the group has raised more than $85,000 and has enrolled more than 1,600 family memberships. Proceeds from this event will help fund the effort to keep the Evanston neighborhood libraries open and expand neighborhood services to the community. (For more information, visit www.eplfriends.org.)
