SASI, Services for Adults Staying in Their Homes, and Walgreens are partnering to offer confidential medication reviews with a pharmacist.

During a review, the pharmacist will try to ensure prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, vitamins and other supplements do not conflict with each other and cause dangerous reactions. “Many times seniors in particular receive prescriptions from multiple specialists, who often do
not know the other medications and supplements the individual may already take. It’s important to review all the items together,” says Marie O’Connor, executive director of SASI.

A Walgreens pharmacist will conduct the confidential reviews at SASI, 1123 Emerson St., #200. The free event, on from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 18, is open to the public. Advance registration at 847-864-7274 is required so people can be assigned a specific time slot.
