The recipients of the North End Mothers’ Club three annual scholarships were named at the Evanston Township High School Awards night held May 18, 2010.

Jessica Williams is the 60th annual recipient of the prestigious Senior Girl’s Honor Award. Jessica is a member of the Varsity Cheerleading Team, QUEST, Central Suburban League Conference Leader, ETHS Theater, Principal Advisory Member and STAE. Jessica also volunteered at the Museum of Science and Industry. Through the Science Achiever Program she helped to design an exhibit on African American Doctors. An aspiring physician, Jessica will pursue her education at Howard University where she will study Biology.

The Joanne Murphy Trautwein Music Scholarship was awarded to Nathaniel (Nate) Woodring. Nate has been an integral part of concert band, symphony orchestra, jazz band, jazz combos, pit orchestra, Yamo orchestra and master singers. Nate has been recognized with many honors and awards including marks of distinction at the district and state levels. Nate is a member of the Boy Scouts of America and has completed his Eagle Scout service project. Nate will pursue his education at Michigan State University where he will major in Music with an emphasis in Jazz Studies.

The Nursing Scholarship was presented to Emma Ashton. Emma has served the local and foreign communities through Best Buddies, ASP Missionary service trips and as a Freshman Ambassador. Emma was a member of the ETHS golf, gymnastics and track teams. Emma will attend the University of Iowa in the fall.
