The youth on this summer’s green team – the City hirees in the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) – are on call to help keep the City’s alleys clean and clear. We’re taking care of alleys, helping at the golf course and targeting [violations of] property standards,” said field supervisor Kelly Fitzpatrick. “Anything that the aldermen call about, we respond to. About 40 of the youth took a break last week to say hello to Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl. Cam Herth, a human relations specialist, supervises the Summer Youth Employment Program, which focuses on “employing youth while keeping Evanston beautiful,” Mr. Fitzpatrick said. The SYEP is now part of the Department of Community and Economic Development.
