Last week was Bike to Work Week in the Chicago area. The Active Transportation Alliance, formerly known as the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation, and Turin Bicycles sponsored a commuter bike station at Fountain Square on June 17, where bicyclists could stop for refreshments. Among those who dropped in to greet bike-commuters were aldermen Jane Grover, 7th Ward; Don Wilson, 4th Ward; and Coleen Burrus, 9th Ward. In photo at right, Ald. Grover, Lina Hoffman of ATA, Chris Mailing, owner of Turin Bicycles, Ald. Wilson and Anne Barnes of Turin Bicycles paused to chat.
