The Evanston Public Library is ready to read with you at the Summer Reading Stop at the Evanston Plaza! The Stop is located at 1958 Dempster, just four doors south of Panino’s.

“We think kids, reading and summer make a great combination,” said Mary Johns, Director of the Evanston Public Library. “We’re excited to have the chance to take summer reading fun to more parts of our community.”

The Summer Reading Stop is a library outpost with books and magazines for kids of all ages and their parents. What can you do at the Stop?

  • You can sign up for the summer reading game and report progress and receive prizes for the time you spend reading. This year’s theme is “Make a Splash!  Read!”
    •  You can attend pre-school story time at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays with even more story times to come.
    •  You can play board games and do arts and crafts.
    •  You can take a book, bring it back and exchange it for another one.
    •  You can just spend time reading at the Stop.

The Summer Reading Stop will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. from July 6 through August 26. Stop by and read with us! For further information on the Summer Reading program, call 847/448-8600.
