A man was shot in the lower back on July 15 at about 12:42 a.m., said Commander Tom Guenther, Public Information Officer for the Evanston Police Department. The shooting occurred in the Evanston side of the 1900 block of Howard Street. Evanston Fire Paramedics responded, treated and transported the victim to a local hospital.  

Evanston police are actively working this investigation, conducting interviews and processing evidence, said the Commander. A motive has yet to be determined for this shooting and no suspects are in custody at this time, he said.  

The investigation remains active and no additional information is available at this time, added the Commander.
