The 25th annual Evanston Ethnic Arts Festival was held last weekend at the Dawes Park lagoon along the lakefront.

Right, kids at the festival hold flags to symbolize worldwide diversity. Every year over 100 nations’ flags are honored.

Each year the festival represents various cultures in song, dance, spoken word, visual arts and food. In photo at right, customers braved the heat to shop for colorful clothing and other unique products.

The Ethnic Arts Festival is sponsored by the City of Evanston Cultural Arts Division and supported in part by the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.
