Telephone service to all City of Evanston buildings became unavailable on Thursday afternoon, July 29. 911 emergency service is not affected and is still available. The City also reports that calls can be made to specific extensions.
As of 5 p.m. on July 29, the City had not reported the cause of the disruption in telephone service.
By 7 p.m. service had been restored to some City departments.
