On July 27, the Megitza Quartet presented a lively evening of original compositions and arrangements based on Balkan, Mediterranean, Roma (gypsy), Central and Eastern European music.

The quartet’s high energy stage presence totally engaged the multigenerational audience surrounding the lagoon at Dawes Park on a perfect summer, lakeside evening.

The quartet is a Chicago-based world fusion group founded by vocalist/bassist Malgorzata Babiarz. The other members include Andreas Kapsalis on guitar, Marek Lichota on accordion, and Jamie Gallagher on percussion.
