JJ’s List has announced that Jane Doyle, Ph.D., executive director and co-founder of Center for Independent Futures, will be honored at the JJ’s List first annual fundraiser cocktail reception benefit on Oct. 1 at Pinstripes in Northbrook.

Dr. Doyle co-founded Center for Independent Futures in 2002 to help address the lack of community-based support services for individuals with disabilities.  The Center, now a vital community-based organization that focuses on transitioning young adults with disabilities into community life, serves over 200 individuals with disabilities and their families.

“Jane gives untold hours, energy, and professional expertise to support individuals with disabilities to be an active part of their communities,” said JJ Hanley, executive director and founder of JJ’s List.  “JJ’s List works toward full integration of people with disabilities into the community and Jane’s leadership and generosity has helped pave the way for our successes,” he said.

The benefit will take place from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 1 and will feature edibles, raffles,  prizes, and live entertainment by the Disability Awareness Players. Funds raised during the event will be used to expand the impact of JJ’s List educational programs and to move JJ’s List from a basement workspace to an accessible workspace with computer desks.  For tickets and more information http://jjslistfundraiser.eventbrite.com/
