The City of Evanston is again participating in the annual Cans for Cash City Recycling Challenge. The contest, sponsored by The United States Conference of Mayors, Novelis Corporation and Keep America Beautiful, Inc., challenges cities to collect recyclable aluminum beverage cans and develop innovative ideas for promoting participation.

The four-week challenge will end on Oct. 29.

Residents only need to continue to place their cans in their recycling carts or bring them to the Oct. 30 Evanston Computer and Electronics Recycling Event from 9 a.m. to noon at Vineyard Christian Fellowship behind the Target/Jewel stores in the Howard/Hartrey shopping plaza.
