At approximately 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 26, fire crews responded to a fire which started in the basement of a single family home at 1632 Forest Place. Two residents were home at the time. They have both been accounted for and there are no reported injuries. The residents will be temporarily displaced and damages are estimated to be around $50,000, said Fire Chief Greg Klaiber in a prepared statement.
Chief Klaiber said the fire was contained to the basement, and firefighter crews performed salvage and overhaul operations for about an hour. There were no injuries reported any of the responding emergency personnel. The cause for the fire is still under investigation, he said.
