Evanston clinical social workers Marsha Smith, LCSW, and Ann Kogen, LCSW, will be giving two free workshops in December at the Evanston Public Library. From 1 to 2 p.m. on Dec. 4, they will be talking to parents on how to help their children manage stress and anxiety. From 11 a.m. to noon on Dec. 11, they will talk with kids aged 8-12 years about what they can do to help manage the anxiety that comes with everyday stresses that result from being busy and challenged. The kids will learn that breathing, diet and exercise, focusing inward, working with thoughts, and time management can all help with the stresses of daily life. The events will take place in the small meeting room on the first floor. Anyone interested in signing up for the workshops should contact Ann at 847-864-8834.
